Sounds Poem by Melanie Emikohe

Sounds

A humming fan
a buzzing air conditioner
pitter patters
dogs growling at dogs
a bird pecking at a roof shingle
gurgling washing machine
clanging dishes.

Neighbors chattering
(about my personal affairs) .

I starve for sounds
whatever I could get
to muffle an obnoxious screaming,
an inside job.

An ominous poem. You catch our attention, and cause us to wonder what the screaming is.

Thanks a lot PP. 😊 Internal turmoil could be as loud as watching race cars without the ear muffs. 😊
