Space Poem by Emmet Morgan

Space

Rating: 5.0

Wide open arms and welcoming eyes
The sky is the lens to a vista wide
The broken promise of light, representing a life long gone
Seems like a cruel dream, that doesn’t in your hands belong
A lost life perhaps, a silent scream that started as a song
Or smoking with Mr. Green, taking a toke from his jewelled bong

This nature of light, and the space it represents
Makes you perhaps notice, you're using the wrong lens
If life is so temporarily accented, all in between whispered mentions
Has the value already been relented, have we stopped feeling the tension
This lost light was someone's pension, their spirits in hopeless ascension
They passed by the smiling sun, before landing on Earth's fallow ground

And here am I, and so is he; its silly to assume: maybe its a she
Either way we're here and we're free, free to think in the way we feel
If life is so fragile, our spirits so agile, our bodies so nubile
If a smile can spread a mile wide, then why frown and take sides

If everything is permanent and given value, then everything is valuable to you
No matter how much you own, you always want more, you always lose
But the ephemeral nature of all, allows you to climb over that insurmountable wall
For just cause a man has wealth, doesn't allow him to stand tall

Things always change, you must keep that in your reality models range
You need to listen to your heart, don't get caught up feeding the brain
Your heart knows no duality, in matters of the world shows a comforting impartiality
She's always on my side, as she's me; its taken me long enough for this to see

She's the queen bee in my hive, what truly makes me feel alive
Like a long lost love, or a fairy-tale wife; she see's no value in strife
There's no point in keeping things tight, just blocks out the light
With solid grounding, you can truly take flight, refocus your sight
Don't be a blight on the whole night, you don't have to show off your might

Just follow that stream within, allow yourself to flow and be real
The seal on the unspoken now seems like a token, ready for business and open
You'll do things proper, no way you're eloping; this gift if not cherished will end up broken
