‘If winter is here
can spring be far behind? '
said the poet.
In his wildest imagination
did he not expect this
perpetual winter of
inhumaneness.

The times of Shelley were really harsh own him. They were crueller than the present times of strife, we may say. Yet, he was able to maintain an optimistic outlook. He is definitely made of sterner stuff
