Spumoni Sunset Poem by Panagiota Romios

Spumoni Sunset

Spumoni Sunset

The sky was so wonderfully turquoise and sparkling coral!
I just stared in wonderment at it as a stunned and wide-eyed child.
Who painted such spumoni-like beauty?
And I, entranced poet, longing so,
to have it stay that way!

Woefully, the moon came out
and rolled it away!
The stars danced in joy,  'twas their twilight.
To sparkle, frolic and chance
to play.
Come back, oh, Spumoni Sky, to this poet-child, another day!
