Standing amidst town's market square,
Kabeer wishes to all welfare,
Nor friendship to any,
Nor undue enmity!

Hereunder is given the original doha, a couplet by Kabeer, which when rendered in English takes all of four lines, a quatrain or more:
Kabira khada bazaar mein, mange sabki khair
Na kahu se dosti, na kahu se bair
Kabeer advises us to look at everyone with the same equal eye, no one your friend, no one your foe; hailing all, hating none. Isha Upanishad said the same thing. Bhagavad-Gita too said the same thing. Kabeer has put it in a layman's language.
Topic: friend, foe
