St Kabeer's Couplets On Experience: 55 He That Knows Him Has No Fear

He that knows Him well has no fear,
He, dunk in doubt is not so clear—
Dwelling under a sensual clout,
Doubtless he suffers hellish bout.

Given below is the original couplet in Hindi along with its translireation in English Roman.

ज्ञानी तो निर्भय भया, मानै नहीं संक,
इन्द्रिन केरे बसि परा, भुगते नरक निशंक ।

Jñānī to nirbhaya bhayā, mānai nahīn sanka,
Indrin kere basi parā, bhugate naraka nishanka.

The man with a direct knowledge of Him, the seer that sees, one with a first-hand feel of His, remains fearless. He has no doubt whatso in his mind. But others with just an intellectual knowledhe on Him are filled with doubt. They fall under the sway of sense organs that make a dwelling in him, and they suffer the hell. There is no doubt about it.
