A matter that's been knocking in my head
since Denisov in 'War And Peace':
is it politically correct to write a word
as that word is wrongly said?

An actor said 'th' for sibilant 's';
said 'theven' for 'seven'. Agreed?
Another said 'w' for 'r';
said 'I will not pwoceed'.

A third, double-encumbered,
said, 'Thee me vainly twy
to win the wathe;
yet thee me thtill wevel in the chathe.'

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
23 9 21. If Denisov says 'webellion', Tolstoy spells it that way. If instead he said 'r' for 'w' he would say 'Raw and Peace'
