Standing By The Shore Poem by Shiela Marie Anunciacion

Standing By The Shore

Rating: 3.6

I see you standing there,
Always by the shore
Never knowing I am here,
You often seem so sore.

I don’t understand a thing,
Why you always look so lonely.
I am always here to sing,
To take away your melancholy.

Every time you seem so near,
I tried to reach you with rhyme;
Yet you often seem so far
Then I tried to haste with time.

You seem so dreamy
Like a spring time’s dew,
Yet there’s an air of mystery
As in winter’s view.

So I see you standing there,
Always by the shore
Never knowing I am here,
You often seem so sore.

Clearly I’m here to love you
Even though you see it not,
‘Cause you’re always looking due
Waiting for her a lot.

For your heart will always be,
Though I already knew,
With her for eternity.
How can I fall for you?

I am only but a friend
Yet she will always be your wife.
I could never really comprehend,
When can I be your life?

So I see you standing there,
Always by the shore
Never knowing I am here,
You often seem so sore.

You could never see me,
Though I’m here tonight,
Your heart is bounded by the sea
Where you lost your light.

I have told you before
And I’ll tell you again
You must go on, move on, for
She wouldn’t want you insane.

She left you that day
And now she could never return.
But from then on till today
You never seem to turn.

To think at most
My sister, will never return.
Forever she’ll be lost
In the sea of no return.

So I see you standing there,
Always by the shore
Never knowing I am here,
You often seem so sore.

At least for once hear me,
What my heart’s trying to say.
Singing for you to see,
I will always be here to stay.

My heart will never change,
To love you I will do always,
Without even mutual exchange
Somehow I’ll find ways.

I only want to see you
Standing by the shore,
Your heart has a smile anew
‘Cause I will be with you fore.

Yet she’s the one you’re missin’
So I think I will fail.
For once you never listen
To my heart’s own tale.

So, again, I’ll see you there
Standing by the shore.
Never knowing I am here,
You’ll always be so sore.

He has a broken heart, and the shore is his sanctuary. But you want him to forget about his old flame (who has left him) and move on, and be with you for your heart will mend his heart to bring back a smile to light on his face.

The technical aspects of this work need a bit of polishing. However, I'm quite taken by the approach and the the subject matter, Both are original and provacative. Keep up the good work.

Shiela, your poem, 'Standing by the Shore, ' is a good start toward expressing yourself in rythmic meter and rhyme. It turned out a bit too long. Many of your rhymes were put in place without a real connection to your trend of thought. You are going to write better, as you keep trying; so, keep on writing, and remember to connect thoughts. I hope you will love this poem... ^_^ I wrote it for my project in Creative Writing when our topic was about Song poems. Actually, the main idea of the poem is about a love that have yet to be returned... but the scenario which leads to this can be imagined in several views... ^_^ I have my own imagination when I was making this and if you can spare some time please tell me yours... ^_^
