The distant sky sparkled
against the horizon.
As Stars like fireworks
shot across the evening sky.
Gulls soared on un-tiring wings,
as the sea broke
upon the golden shore.

Thoughts lay heavy on my mind
while standing solitary on the shore,
as the sounds of the earth
passed me by.
Bringing life to my aching soul
and terror to my tortured mind.

White tips broke on the incoming waves
as life itself drove me on
into the darkness of the night.
Deceit and hate rained upon my thoughts
as the ghosts of the past passed me by
Bringing hope to the light of day
and an end to this lonely life.
