Standing Up Poem by Angel Jimenez

Standing Up

Rating: 5.0

A beautiful afternoon, alone at home
Lying down in my garden, watching a sunset
With the wind touching my body
The wind touches my lips
very, very softly
soft, as her lips

I imagine her
At my side, hugging her
Kissing her
Kissing her soft, soft lips

But when I open my eyes
She is not there
Im alone, just me and the wind
Feeling the pain

The sun is gone
So I stand up, and go to my room
I take my headphones, my records, turn on the speakers
And start to mix

The First song reminds me
The moments I spended with her
The moments I was in heaven
The song takes me to far, far, to the sky

I dont mix the song
I just lay in my bed, and listen the song
Again, and again, and again
Until I fall asleep
My eyes close, and I get lost in my dreams

I wake up, hugging a pillow
But not hugging her
I just sit in my bed
Thinking

My heart beats like crazy
I know i still love her
Ive never met someone so special
My guardian angel

But I must continue my life
Continue walking
Not giving up
Not looking back
Stand up and fight
Thats what life is about
