State Of Disgrace Poem by Etienne Charilaou

State Of Disgrace

Rating: 5.0

Today is Friday, the 5th of June.
I saw a few things on the news
which I would like to share with yous.

George Floyd's death became a clarion call.
If only it would lead to change, once and for all.

Artists joined together do their bit.
But hatred in hearts may always sit.

They dumped fuel oil into a river in Norilsk.
Will humanity never learn; we can't take that kind of risk!

How glad are we to serve.
Depart from this and we swerve.

Why can't we think outside the box?
Get rid of all politicians who always outfox.

Powerful people, the world is not yours.
Things are changing as never befores.

Still we have this Damocles thing.
The Bible says it's all going to hell
before it'll really get well.

So, what do you do?
You've got to stay true.
