The mystics go through
states of „pleasure and pain".
On its onward journey to reality
these experiences of pain and pleasure
are ‚constants‘ of the transcendent life.
Taken all together, they constitute one
continuous process of transcendence,
the steady remaking of character
in accordance with the independent
spiritual world in which the mystic
finds his consolation and inner comfort.
Love the title, some say there is not pleasure without pain, which I think is not true, and very thought provoking piece here Tony.... Annette

I would like to translate this poem
tony, because reading this piece prompts questions in me, i wish we could sit across from one another and discuss it. i'll leave it at this for now- one of the images that is prompted is of the sage from the tao as i recall it. the sage doesn't look any different than the ordinary person. and in his perspective, shaped by enlightenment, s/he realizes that the difference between herself/himself is merely that of awareness. which reminds me of jesus telling his disciples that if they want to see the kingdom, be first, they have to become like children. all for now. all the best to you. glen
