Steps. Poem by Abdellah Belhadj

Steps.

It's a shining day
A man standing before a man
and sunbeams deflected by the leaves.

everything is as it should be
no one walks naked
no flood in sight
only clothes flying
and the road full of weightless heads

Where am I standing?
With what steps do I walk into their hearts?

It's a shining day with warmer air
a man looking at my head in wonder.
I shake mine to the left
he shakes his to the right.
