Still Got You Poem by Airda Jones

Still Got You

They look our way
With those smirks
Laughing and joking
Saying it will never work

Saying they're too different
From two seperatre worlds
He being the one with potential
And she being the invisible girl

Saying even at that age
It was only for the thrills
Thinking they cannot make it work
They just never will

Now I enjoy seeing them
With their eyes so wide
When they see us together
Still side by side

Their mouths hanging open
'Cause they never believed
That the perfect couple
Would be me and you

No, it doesn't matter
Back then I used to care
But now when they're smirking
I only see us there

Jealous or envious
Don't know what made them
Think it was only a crush
That would simply end

But baby we have
Proven them all wrong
That we could withstand
Them all along

We were in it more
Than what they thought of
'Cause it was for the thrill
But the thrill of love

Let them look at us
And wear those grins
'Cause between us
We know its only the beginning.
