Still That Man Poem by Jacob Nambe

Still That Man

Rating: 5.0

He settled for the girl of his youth.
His love for a good time call.
Never did he imagine a life time with her,
Without doubts, thinking he should do better.
Destiny caught up with him while at it.
Time passed and also came to be,
That the true self was not built for success.
With what to him was better, he only longs to satisfy.
Disabled by inability, he drowns in self- righteousness and hateful bile.

He feels entitled to what he openly denounced.
Denounced yet blamed for leaving.?
She's back to her ways and he knows she's too far for her energy to fuel his being,
For her trust to conceal his deceit and her love to caress his ego.
Better isn't good for this.
Too late for him to run now, he's stuck.
Slowly dying and too far from his life source.

As the source, she's gone on to give,
To those whom he spurned, life to its brim.
To think he was only settling for life.!
What possibly was better.?
