In shaking, the earth shook
The boulder of hindrance rolled away
He refused the tradition for the dead, reserved
Stooping down to look in
Only the linen remained
For He had risen as promised
He is risen, for evermore!
Mary, blinded with grief, knew not the risen Christ
Like many today, who are entangled with the cares of this life
The tomb was empty; so it remains even today
Like Mary, the church preaches the good news
That we have seen the risen Lord
Whose wounds, are for our healing
And His blood for our sin's recompense!
The first day of the week
Risen He, for the strengthening of us the weak
So that, of His resurrection power, boldly we speak
Word meat for the quick
Commissioned us, His exploits to repeat
Calls He even today, many to His table to eat
For like them of old, we cry, "We have seen the Lord"
