In the context
of evangelisation,
Christianity is seen
as new, and perhaps
even strange
and dangerous,
but it has not
been tried and tested.
These conditions
produce certain
challenges for
the church, but
they're familiar
challenges.
The church has
been working
within a pre-Christian
context in missions
and evangelism
from the beginning
of the time of preaching.
