Strange Desire, A Very Personal Confession Poem by Sandra Feldman

Strange Desire, A Very Personal Confession

I like to dramatize a little
Theater and cinema were
My first choice,
But I did not have the opportunity
To exercise my dramatic voice.
Poetry has helped me,
Express the good "demons" within,
My feelings, my imagination
Sometimes flower, not as sin
But as poems from within,
And I am very grateful
Not to drown in banalities,
Even though I wish the stage
Had been my place, to be.
I would have loved to share
With the audience
Some of the love,
For acting
That always lived in me.

p.p.s. for clarification, i wonder: 1- are there banalities in your life? what, if i may ask? i sure have a few. and 2 - what's so strange as a desire to be acting on a stage or in cinema/movies? ? bri ;)

are you so old that you can't find some onstage theatrical opportunity? i like 'personal confessions" . i made one in a police station once and served 5 months (kidding: six) . i'm glad poetry has helped you (somewhat) with an outlet to express yourself! bri ;) to MyPoemList " good demons" ? and within/within so close together!
