Streets Of Sorrow Poem by Milica Franchi De Luri

Streets Of Sorrow

Rating: 5.0

Our young boys and girls
have not seen war,
have not seen deadly epidemics,
poverty is a word they do not comprehend.
They have it all,
handed to them on a silver platter,
yet they are dying young
on our streets of sorrow.
Riding deadly weapons,
they roam the streets with speed
ignoring they mothers pleads;
Don't drive any faster
then your guardian angel can fly.
How she wished she had said the final goodbye

it's a good poem and a poem, like the one on the kangaroos, that must be written and you've done it with such feeling.... It's so sad to see so many of our young people here in Australia, for instance, wasting their lives through speed - and worse on drugs and binge-drinking.... There is so much potential in our young people and yet so many lost to us and the world...

very aptly said about the young generation, who are in such a hurry to enjoy life, that they dont see what is ahead.i always believe, not to give the child everything in life in a silver platter.then he will have no goals to look up to.to strive and reach a goal makes him a man.your poem speaks about day to day happenings in life, and it is really nice to be aware of it, mothers!
