Strike Twice Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Strike Twice

If I stay still long enough
It's bound to happen.
It goes by in a blink,
Sometimes hard to catch
But truth is if you believe in it
Than anything is possible.
Sometimes lightening can be vulnerable.
A daffodil dancing in a field of rain.
It goes by in a blink,
If I stay long enough.
Then it's bound to happen.
& as soon as it does I'll twist the top
Back on the jar.
Thought to be the safest place possible.
I wasn't looking for you, but that's
How the best miracles happen
No matter how imperfect, we both are
electrified.
Thought to be the safest place possible.
I put the lid on top of my head
& waited for you to strike the second time
around.
Deliriously absorbed in ecstasy
Edison would be proud
