Such A Fate Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Such A Fate

Not only monkeys alone
The birds also have gone
They either disappeared
Or failed to rear in the nests

No trees are left
No holes are kept
The houses are closed from all sides
Nature has been left to misdeeds

The pollution has added woes
The disaster story naturally flows
Along with cyclone and earthquakes
The rivers have destroyed banks

Monkeys have long history
They have been considered sacred and holy
But see the plight during test flights
They are exported to foreign countries for tests

In some of the temple premises
They have taken refuge and reside
The followers offer fruits and sweets
Such is the fate they are going to meet

Such A Fate
