Sugar Coated Words Poem by Dorsey Baker

Sugar Coated Words

Dark and double edged sugar
coated words
dance and play
sing and shout
grab at the wind

Sip ginger teas
and calm
strong black coffee

Serve at the table
of history and its knowledge
Dark and double edged sugar
coated words
like floating butterflies
floating upon the breeze

Watching naked vines
turn into ripe fruit
and thoughts of hidden
pleasure provoke our senses!
