Summer Poem by Marilyn Jean

Summer

Years have passed
Here, so it is, hear me
I've opened my closet
Looked inside quite lost
Searching for myself
Saw it wildly empty
Yet inside my heart
I could still see you in
Why this?

Something stopped around us
I cannot quite name it
Maybe I am making this up
Or maybe not at all
Summer does this to me
Once more, Eve
I dream of something sweet
This is why
