Summer's Beckoning Call Poem by David Harris

Summer's Beckoning Call

The profusion of colours
decks the fields in spring
with new shoots to show us
of summer's beckoning call.

Winter's cold winds splinters
under the sun's warming rays
and we count the time
until our approaching holidays.

We dream of relaxing days
when work will be forgotten
on beaches with sand stretching
near sparking ocean sprays.

Our smiles reflecting
in countless camera lens
as the warm sea breeze
whisk our problems away.
