Summer Slumber Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Summer Slumber

Lazy, little, loafing, boy
Laying underneath the lilac, shade
Why not lift your lazy self
Look for friends and play

Lying like a lumpy log
Leaves one left to say
Little boys should live their life
Loving every day

Larks are lurking up above
Leaning to take aim
Laughing at you, little boy
While you leap up from the rain

Learn your lesson well, my son
Never waste long summer days
Don't lie within a lucky shot
Little birds like easy prey
