I've seen the sun rise,
O'er Galveston Bay.
I've seen fire in the skies,
At the break of day.
I've beheld the colors,
In the early morn.
Shining on the waters,
Alone and forlorn.
And I've watched the sunset,
In the golden west.
Behind San Jacinto,
With a song in my breast.
And I've stood alone,
With tears in my eyes.
Longing for my home,
Under those Texas skies.
I've been many places,
And seen wonders galore.
Many beautiful faces,
I never saw before.
Sunrises and sunsets, are really divine,
And they never get old,
They get better with time.
Like a cloudy bottle, of a good Port wine.
