Surprise Gift Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Surprise Gift

Surprise gift

We were not sure
About our future
Whether she will join my journey
It was doubtful prophecy

I tried my level best
As I considered it to be crucial test
"I must succeed" I asserted in aloofness
It was really touching case

"I will go mad" she heard me with patience
I had real approach with true stance
She gave no reply but eyes were put down
I knew it was not her decision

One fine morning, she knocked door
Without hesitation, she entered room
I was astonished to see her in early hours
She was accepted by me and I garlanded her with flowers

So many years have passed since
I am not tense now
Life is gifted with two kids
This was just the need
