Through the forest does rage the fire,
Consuming all in its pathway.
For my survival I aspire.
In forest home I cannot stay.
I probably lingered too long
Before choosing to take my flight.
Forces against me are so strong,
As I take off into the night.
Sparks and ashes fly all around
Me as my journey does begin
Toward unknown destiny be bound.
Wings afire I go in tailspin.
Above the fire in darkened sky,
Final flight for this butterfly.
