Survivors Poem by Paul Reed

Survivors

Rating: 5.0

Survivors, that is what we are
We had to be to get this far,
We wouldn't allow ourselves to crumble and fold
Or give in to the ravages of growing old;

Our dreams were stepped on and crushed
As through the passing years we rushed,
But never once did we stop and think
To give in to despair or even blink;

Because survivors, that is what we are
We have already managed to get this far,
In each tomorrow is where our hopes are stored
And where survivors will reap their reward.

I guess we are all born to survive, I think it's built into us. Great poem.
