Sweet Defeat Poem by deborah mae lacay

Sweet Defeat

as a watch time pass me by
scenes of loneliness flash across my weary mind
i wish i could just close my eyes
and forget about the night's blinding light.

if only i could turn the world upside down
cross the distance despite the miles
through the waves, beneath the skies
to be with you even for just a while.

my weariness leaves me wandering
i'm stationary yet my mind has gone so far away
it's in the other side of the world
wondering if you're fine and if you thought of me too.

i hope for the end of this weariness
but nostalgia occupies every bit of my sanity
you never left my memory since you've been gone
and how your love gave me it's distinctive warmth.

i look for a resting place to give myself a break
but all i noticed were tiny grains of water
ready to fall down to indicate their surrender
i lose the battle, i must accept defeat.

i miss you so much...
