Systematic Static Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Systematic Static

An exerted force.
By reason from weight alone.
To prevent a motion.
Has to stop being condoned.
With it to sit permitted.
To have it known and shown.
A refusing a forward movement.
Is not allowed by some to accept.
And suppressed with pressure,
To expect and forget...
Wishes to be released,
From a life to live 'feeling' oppressed.
While upset and protesting.
Yet kept endorsed are the effects.
T0 prove them supported.
As if to give approval,
By those who observe showing no regrets.

This systematic static.
In place to not move.
Provides no benefit.
To those awaiting,
For permission to improve their lives.
Residing with minds locked.
Confined and whining.
Yet tolerating limitations.
Believing this satisfies and pleases,
Divine wishes of a 'god'.
Taught to them from scriptured teachings,
A staying on knees and meek.
Will free them someday if they pray.

A systematic static.
Has them held back and trapped.
Like crabs in a barrel.
Taught.
To be envious and jealous of each other.
And fight over petty acts.
But still confined to those times,
In their minds.
Being punished whenever the 'master' returns.
Discovering their disobedience.
And pulls out a whip.
Prepared to crack it on some backs.
