Tagore Song (# 67) Wish To Give Thee Even If Don’t Need Poem by Tushar Ray

Tagore Song (# 67) Wish To Give Thee Even If Don’t Need

(Tomayi kichhu debo bole chayaje amar mon)

My mind wants to offer Thee something
Even if Thou don’t need it
When I found Thee all alone in darkness
Along Thy way to deep forest
I wished to light a candle for Thy path
Even if Thou don’t need it
I saw people in market abusing Thee
Throwing dusts at Thee
Along such rude path Thy Bina keeps playing
And Thou absorbed in strings
I wished to welcome Thee in flower-necklace
Even if Thou don’t need it

People come in groups shouting Thy glory
In many noisy languages
Repeatedly knocking Thy door for begging
Often abusive and crying
I wish to offer me at Thy feet without return
Even if Thou don’t need it
