Take It All Poem by Sanjukta Nag

Take It All

Rating: 5.0

Life,
You can take anything from me,
Except the words that inhabit my soul.
And I’ll thread them one by one
To create thousands of poems.

Take my happiness,
Despair will flow from my pen
Like tears flow from eyes.

You can take my hope,
As my words can deal
With sheer hopelessness.

If you pluck dreams from my eyes,
I’ll be awake all night long
To inscribe poems on moon.

Snatch my love,
With warm blood of my broken heart,
I’ll write poems of loneliness.

But if you want to give me something,
Then seize my life
And give me death.
For I know,
My poetry will live
Even after I take leave
From this earth.
