Take It As It Is! Or Leave It Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Take It As It Is! Or Leave It

"Take it as it is or leave it.
You hear me?
Take it as it is.
Take it as it is! "

Those who earn their wishes.
To get.
Are seldom the ones,
Heard complaining to receive...
Something less than they wanted.
Handed to them given,
By another as a gift.
With a return,
Of expressed disappointment.
And ungratefulness to exhibit.

People like this,
Can raise both eyebrows quick.
And cause a head to tilt.
Left to stiffen on a neck,
Like a mannequin fixed.
In a pose kept to freeze.
Leaving another,
Closing a mouth shut to tighten.
As face muscles twitch.
Disbelieving the audacity,
Of one having the nerve...
To display how they are displeased.
Hoping balled fists,
Are left to go unnoticed.
One doing this,
Before through an exit they leave.

"Take it as it is or leave it.
Take it as it is.
I'm outta here! "

-No need to be upset.
If I knew you were going to surprise me,
I would have told you,
What from you I expected to get.
You misunderstood my reaction.-
