Tale Of Suffering Poem by shakil ahmed

Tale Of Suffering

Tale of Suffering

Life is a tale of suffering
Happiness is like an occasional guest
The law of this gloomy world is
Very cruel and penetrating.

The world is a terrible thing
Here people groan for want of food
Misery is his constant companion
People cannot get out of pensive mood.

We hear the cry of agonized soul
Everywhere in this dreary world
People are leading a base life
Full of pain and misery.

Love is precious, said by our ancestors
But now love has become a business deal
People are running after flesh
Ignoring aesthetic beauty.

Morality has become an age-old thing
Dishonesty prevails in every corner of the globe
Rape and murder are the order of the day
Even children are not spared.

Our dreams are shattered everyday
Like the pieces of broken glass
People become dejected and frustrated
In every sphere of life.

Nobody knows the goal of life
What to do or what not to do
From where we came and where to go
We are just wandering to and fro.
