As the oak tree grows taller
from the tiny acorn
It catches more wind and
more birds perch on branches
Reaching taller than other trees
proudly It sways in the wind
from side to side on sunny days
It might be the tallest tree today
But a strong storm is enough
to uproot it from the ground
and in no time the poor tree
will be eaten by the termites
It's a thoughtful poem.thank u for sharing this poem.10+++
Hi rini, Very poignant poem. The taller you grow, the easier it is to fell you; the more vulnerable you become. Beautifully written. Very effective use of words. Brevity is one of the strengths of the poems of Rini. A full 100+++
