Tear Drops Poem by G. Akanji Olaniyi

Tear Drops

Rating: 4.0

Tears drop like rain drops
Anguish like stream flowing
Could it be a “happy death day? ”
No! It must be no way to celebrate death
Death that comes unexpected and unfortunate
Innocent souls forced on a painful passage
Some asleep and others awake
On a journey of no return
Straight to the great beyond where friends are few
Could there be friends there
When there are non on earth
Life becomes cheap to suit a faithful conceptualization
A translation that makes us almost less human
Tears are still dropping
Filling the earth as the end of a rainfall
But their tears were dried before the passage
Souls do not shed tears
No weeping but there is anguish of regrets
Sights of loved ones and their tears
Tears are for them
And those who desired the earth to cry and drop tears
Hold your head for your escape
Shed tears for the gory memory
Those still cold bodies lining the earth
Could be you or anybody!

I find this poem very dark as my perception of death is very different than yours but that's the beauty of beiing able to express our own in poetry. Though I find it dark, still your description is very interesting. Thank you for sharing.
