Tell Me Why - Poem by Pedro Rodriguez

Tell me why did you hurt me so
Places I wanted to be you would never let me go

Tell me why did you say you’d always be there
But through time you’ve only proven you don’t care

I gave you my heart
But you just tore it apart

Complained about me lending my ear
When all along you were the one who did not want to hear

Tell me why I built up, just to breakdown
For you to stomp my mind, body, and soul into the ground

I gave you my life, wanted to make you my wife
But all you did was cut me like a knife

So many questions, the answers I can’t see with the naked eye
So I’ll count on you to tell me why
