Ten Long Years Poem by Kim Weser

Ten Long Years

Rating: 4.5

Ten long years since I've seen your face,
You disappeared without a trace,
Ten long years since you said goodbye,
You took my heart and I thought I would die.

Ten long years since we last spoke,
The words are forming but then I started to choke,
Ten long years since we were together,
I thought we would last forever.

Ten long years since you graced my presence,
Oh how I longed to feel your essence,
Ten long years since we've been able to dance,
It's been so long since I've felt romance.

Ten long years where did you go?
Time passed by so slowly,
Ten long years as my memory started to fade,
You were not there to come to my aide.

Ten long years now you're back in my life,
I hope you haven't come to cause any strife,
Ten long years now I hope our dreams will come true,
I hope you haven't come back to say we're through.

Ten year. A lifetime. I liked the honest tone of the words. Left the reader with a hopeful ending. Can you return to where you left?

Beautiful love poem, well articulated and elegantly embellished with poetic rhyme and rhythm. Lovely and very passionate. Thanks for sharing Kim.
