Terror On Sunday Poem by Barry Middleton

Terror On Sunday

sunset is for the tears
of the planet

the red eyes of terror
are a constant presence

we have not learned
that hatred breeds hatred

we have not learned
that despair breeds rage

the dead on the chapel floor
cannot answer why

the dead do not wonder
who would want to kill me

fire will grow from the sun
the living will seek vengeance
