Terrorism Poem by Somanathan Iyer

Terrorism

Rating: 2.0

Danger from the neighborhood Deluge from right in front
Havoc from just behind Hell from the high Heavens
Theaters or Parks Bridges or Buildings
Hotels or Cinemas Cities or Towns
Trains or Buses Police or Public

Terror strikes everywhere from nowhere
In the name of God In the name of Goals
People are out to destroy the peace
Spineless they are with aimless targets
Playing their games with innocent lives

Cowards they are with cold blooded zeal
Caring very little for lives of others
Causing panic with mindless violence
The God whom they cite in defending their crimes
Downs his head in utter shame for using his name

Demons and devils taken their re birth
Calling themselves fighters for Goals
Cripple the system with catastrophic conspiracies
Their Ghastly acts with ghostly impact
Seal the lives of many an innocents

The thirst for blood and zest for killings
Blind their minds & eclipse the senses
Plans they draw for death & destruction
Pleasure they derive from plights of victims
The blood of the killed and cries of the injured
A feast of all sorts to their eyes and ears

Fools they are they don't have support
Shunned by public and shrouded by fear
Remain for ever as underworld criminals
Unfit they are to live in society
Animals resist for having them near
Guns and bombs never fetch the goals
Vengeance & Violence never won the hearts
Spineless they are with aimless targets!
