Tetelestai Poem by Doris Cornago

Tetelestai

Struggling
In the clutches
Of a fiery vulture
The softness of my
Skin shrivels from the
Sharp sting of slaughter
Moribund passersby gawk
Laughingly mock this tussle
Merciless mercenaries paw
Finding pleasure in parody
Snippets of myself fell in
Revealing bones of past
Encounters hidden in
Buzzards fly above
Smelling blood
Voice above
Thundered
Tetelestai
So be it
