Imagine standing as a Texan stood
On the nearly dry bed of the Colorado.
Years of drought made the white bass
Stare up desperately from little pools,
Until some spring or fall
Brought flash flooding-
Lifting them-
Gifting the vision of a vulture
Over a damned valley.
Now a boat sails,
A striper swims,
And a raptor flies:
And all Texas lakes
Are similarly cultured and dammed.

I would like to translate this poem
'Now a boat sails, A fish swims, And a raptor flies: And all Texas lakes Are similarly cultured.' - That's good to know!
