Although she feeds me bread of bitterness,
And sinks into my throat her tiger's tooth,
Stealing my breath of life, I will confess
I love this cultured hell that tests my youth!
A Letter To My Aunt Discussing The Correct Approach To Modern Poetry
To you, my aunt, who would explore
When I die
I don't care what happens to my body
throw ashes in the air, scatter 'em in East River
bury an urn in Elizabeth New Jersey, B'nai Israel Cemetery
behave yourself you always said to me.
I behaved myself
when others were warm in winter
PLAGUE take the dull and dusty town,
Its paved and sordid mazes,
Now Spring has trimmed her pretty gown
With buttercups and daisies!
I would I were a careless child,
Still dwelling in my highland cave,
Or roaming through the dusky wild,
Or bounding o'er the dark blue wave;
To the Memory of the Household It Describes
This Poem is Dedicated by the Author:
"As the Spirits of Darkness be stronger in the dark, so Good Spirits,which be Angels of Light, are augmented not only by the Divine lightof the Sun, but also by our common Wood Fire: and as the CelestialFire drives away dark spirits, so also this our Fire of Wood doth thesame." -- Cor. Agrippa, Occult Philosophy,
From brightening fields of ether fair disclosed,
Child of the Sun, refulgent Summer comes,
In pride of youth, and felt through Nature's depth:
In the laid back California town of sunny San Raphael
Lived a girl named Pearly Sweetcake,
You probably knew her well
BUT two miles more, and then we rest !
Well, there is still an hour of day,
And long the brightness of the West
Will light us on our devious way;
The blast from Freedom's Northern hills, upon its Southern way,
Bears greeting to Virginia from Massachusetts Bay:
No word of haughty challenging, nor battle bugle's peal,
Nor steady tread of marching files, nor clang of horsemen's steel,
THE MERCHANT Abu Khan shunned the customs of his race,
And sought the cultured wisdom of the West.
His daughter fair Leola had the desert’s supple grace,
With an English education of the best.
In the Neolithic Age savage warfare did I wage
For food and fame and woolly horses' pelt;
I was singer to my clan in that dim, red Dawn of Man,
And I sang of all we fought and feared and felt.
As you distance yourself from truth
You create a rift between you and God
You have to hide your face behind masks
To save the false impression you spread,
Ah! What avails the classic bent
And what the cultured word,
Against the undoctored incident
Frowning, the owl in the oak complained him
Sore, that the song of the robin restrained him
Wrongly of slumber, rudely of rest.
"From the north, from the east, from the south and the west,
There’s nothing so exasperates a true Australian youth,
Whatever be his rank in life, be he cultured or uncouth,
Pair of warmest, shiny, amber eyes.
See through deceit and alluring lies.
Fairest damsel in rank and file.
Barbaric, with the cultured.
Brutish, gracious styled.
Defeats each thought, brave as wise
To be reconciled.
These scents make a sweet entrance,
To give a powerful welcome
Just as they were cultured to give.
Love life in pastoral paradise is still there even in the modern time sure;
Pastoral world judges people by love value unlike in modern world,
Where persons are judged by their their money value only forever;
But by wisdom only real value of a person is decided more than knowledge!
Bhucchadon ka gaon,
Finally came the news
that the flesh and blood scattered
during the Big Bang
may have settled in another solar system
She played the piano! !
A cultured lady with many talents;
Humanity dies when I died
We are wild animal, they are cultured people
We trust them, they betrayed us
Writing a poem is not about bringing some words together to create some charming sentences. It's so much deeper than that. Writing poetry is a bridge that allows people to express their feelings and make others live every single word they read. Poetry is to educate people, to lead them away from hate to love, from violence to mercy and pity. Writing poetry is to help this community better understand life and live it more passionately.
