Thankful For What She Has Poem by Linda Barnes

Thankful For What She Has

If I had one wish
That I could make
I would change that instant
That my heart changed

I went from full of heart
To the utmost despair
Just being a witness
To heartbreak I saw

I do not wish it for myself
Only just for my child
Who lost a part of her
On that fateful night

I mother's love
Is beyond unconditional
She taught me that lesson
As her tears continued to fall

Her anguish has turned
From blame to acceptance
Living each day fully
Thankful for what she has

Full of heart to a heart-break. This is very poignant. May your words come true- I would change that instant That my heart changed
