That Chekovian Summer

that Chekovian summer split apart

the soul going down one pathway

down the other way, the heart

such things are conclusive

keeping in mind the historical moment

or the moment when starlight fled

hiding her face on the other side of the earth.

nameless, among shadows.

absent in the evenings,

fading from view.
