That Funny Red Hat Poem by Adrian Antique

That Funny Red Hat

That soft familiar thing on top of your head
Made me remember Christmas in a funny way -
When we threw smiles at glinting bulbs of yellow and red
And snuggled in the warmth of blue and gray.

That was our home now many miles away
And you wore that Santa hat like a reindeer …
When we were almost never ever lonely in a way
Because the cool wind always smiled and she was near.

Approaching us once more are the stars of our joy
And colorful trees with tiny sparkles amidst chuckles of a boy -
Moments we go back to … whenever December is in the air …
Remembering and pretending we all have red flowers in our hair.

Yes, the nights have become quite a bit longer
So, we could dream more and imagine our own winter …
And music has become a blend of drizzles and sunlight,
Lullabies in the wind and children's singing in the night.

Let us gather once again the pictures we've kept aside
And mix them with the new memories of this coming yuletide …
Maybe love is hiding in that crazy crimson bonnet for all I care -
But as long as we're together, the bells shall be waiting for us there.
