Stolen Flowers Poem by Adrian Antique

Stolen Flowers

Rating: 5.0

Thirteen years, I have been around -
So many places …
but I seem to have not found
the right bundle of colors for my restlessness.

There was once one
Little yellow fragrance of the sun.
I took it from a small table of stone -
A sprite of gold bursting from a cone.

It was laid there by an angel
Beautiful as the stories she would tell.
Her eyes had a blush of morning shine
Although later, she kissed another valentine.

Another I picked from a bouquet of rainbows
When my sister said her I do's …
It was pink, cream, and white with shadows
Of impending twilight blues.

A little green leaf was with another …
A crown of red I stole from her shoulder …
When once, I danced with a beautiful stranger,
Beneath the music of a fading rain shower.

A tiny violet bell hanging on a vine
Outside a lonesome house I thought was all mine …
I tiptoed and plucked from an orange wall
And kept in my pocket, this sleeping waterfall.

I had placed these petals in the pages of my book -
The scent, the memories … of every flower I took …
So, I could browse through these moments I stole
And pretend my heart was never broken but ever whole.
