That old man
Do you remember
The promise you made him?
The one that said
If a spell of sickness
Should ever befall him
And he was not strong enough
To do for himself
That you would be there
To do for him
That old man has
Depended on that promise
That you made him!

You promised him
That your love for him
You would never forsake
Nothing would get in its way!
That he would never be
Left lonely and alone
That old man
Would never be neglected
If you could help it!

Thats the promise that you made
To that old man
And that's the promise you must keep!
