That Unique Toy Poem by Namita Rani Panda

That Unique Toy

That Unique Toy

I often visit every fair
And Meenabazaar
In search of that unique toy
That used to give me immense joy.

A monkey made of plastic
Clinging to an iron stick
Used to scale up and down
As per the player's passion.

To us my mom used to say,
" See, how the monkey is never in dismay
No matter how many times you pull him down
He climbs up again with no sign of frown."

Now I search for that unique creation
May be cheaper but with a life's great lesson
But my son prefers remote controlled car, plane and gun
Which only give him unlimited fun.

So my most cherished toy is lost in oblivion
Unwanted by the children so smart and modern!
